Seems hard to believe that we’re in mid July. One of my busiest weeks took place in June covering no less than 1500 miles photographing a wedding at Polhawn Fort near Torpoint, shoots in London on different days, meeting with couples in London and Cornwall who are getting married in Cornwall.
I am thrilled with the responses from people I am meeting; the studio galleries are so well received and I’m really looking forward to the work that’s in the pipe line for the rest of 2011.
The photography industry fascinates me; so many changes and exciting times ahead as the industry continues to evolve. I speak with many photographers in different parts of England mainly; it’s interesting to note that the proactive marketers are doing good business and the many that seem confused how to move forward are being overtaken, quite sad in some respects but hey that’s the way things are going to move as more and more photographers enter the market place.
The competition is excellent for couples getting married and looking for a wedding photographer as they are spoiled for choice with so many photographers competing for business. It’s great fun and each year I think I have got as much enjoyment as I am going to get out of photographing weddings and each year I become more excited as I meet the challenges and am delighted how many of the couples I meet with are booking.
This year I am amazed by the number of men making contact about wedding photography. Normally the enquiries have come from brides to be, but this year more men are getting in touch than women just one of the many changes I’m seeing during 2011.
I realise the featured weddings section is light on content but Leon and I are processing masses of images captured at recent weddings which once completed will enable me to get some more stuff online.
